About Us
While the Dracut Scholarship Foundation, Inc. continually explores new and innovative fundraising opportunities to help meet the ever-increasing cost of higher education, the Annual Telethon remains the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts.
Since its inception, the Telethon has played a pivotal role in the Foundation’s growth and success. In 2007, the Foundation celebrated its 25th Annual Telethon, broadcasting live from Dracut High School. Over the years, the event has inspired extraordinary community support and generated significant resources for local students.
The impact of that support is evident in the Foundation’s scholarship growth. In 1980, the Foundation awarded 20 scholarships totaling $8,000. By 1990, that number had grown to 36 scholarships totaling $50,000. In 2026, the Foundation reached another milestone, awarding 64 scholarships totaling $145,000.
Today, the Telethon continues to be a vital part of the Foundation’s mission and a powerful example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to invest in its students. The unwavering generosity of Dracut residents, local businesses, volunteers, and donors has helped create opportunities for generations of graduates.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping the Dracut Scholarship Foundation make a lasting difference in the lives of Dracut students.
Our Board
The Dracut Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors consisting of no more than 28 members. As a wholly volunteer organization, no Director or Officer receives compensation for their service. Their commitment reflects a shared passion for supporting Dracut students and advancing the Foundation’s mission.
Directors are appointed to serve three-year terms, providing leadership, oversight, and stewardship of the Foundation’s programs and resources.
In the event of a vacancy, the Selection Committee reviews all applications on file and submits a recommendation to the Board of Directors. The remaining Directors then elect a qualified individual to fill the vacant Director or Officer position for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Through the dedication of its volunteer leadership, the Dracut Scholarship Foundation continues its longstanding tradition of service, integrity, and commitment to educational opportunity for Dracut students.
